RGS was proud to co-sponsor the ITS Architecture Worksop, held in Vancouver on December 1, 2011. This workshop was held by ITS Canada and focused on the new ITS Architecture for Canada, Version 2.0. Over 50 attendees from the pubic sector and industry attended and RGS co-sponsored the reception afterwards.
RGS has recently coordinated a special workshop session at the ITS World Congress in Orlando, Florida entitled Re-Tooling Public Transit - Towards a Unified Transit Reference Architecture. RGS convened a panel of international experts to speak to the session’s topic: Re-Tooling Public Transit, Towards a Enterprise Reference Architecture.

Rob Shirra, founder of RGS Consulting was named Technical Advisor to the Canadian Advisory Committee of the Standards Council of Canada (CAC/SSC) which provides technical expertise to the ISO/TC204 Standards Committee. ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies and the work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Technical Committee TC204 is focused on Intelligent Transport Systems and its Working Group 8 focuses on standards and architecture development for the public transit industry.
Mr. Shirra will direct his WG8 contributions specifically to the definition of Enterprise Reference Architectures for public transit.

RGS Consulting was appointed to conduct an Enterprise Investment Initiative (EII) for BC Transit, which will define their capital and operating initiatives over the next 3-5 years to support their business vision.
RGS Consulting was selected by BC Transit to develop an ICT Strategy (Information, Communications and Technology), which included governance models, process improvement opportunities and technology elements to support operational and administrative business needs.
